Historic Department Store in Oranienburg

I’ve wanted to “portrait” this beautiful department store building – clearly inspired by the Wertheim department store in Berlin – for a long time. Here it is, the small watercolor that shows us the facade towards Bernauer Strasse in Oranienburg, Germany.

The building with details in a mix of Art Nouveau and Neo-Baroque is located near the town’s castle and apparently survived WWII, but I don’t know anything about its history, for example about the original owners. I hope to find out more about this!
