20,000 Leagues Under The Sea dedications

Lately I’ve made a lot of dedications into my 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA graphic novel at many readings, book events and especially our reading concert (have a look under ‘events) for the comic which simply resonated with EVERYONE (thank you so much for coming!). Here are a few of the drawings I made!
Nemo’s Cutlery

Even if it isn’t shown in the graphic novel, there were also drafts and considerations as towhat the cutlery on board the ‘Nautilus‘ could look like. Here’s a spoon from Nemo’ssilverware.

Scotland

In September I was on a boat trip to Scotland. And although it was very disturbed by storms (we were unable to call many ports and destinations as a result), I am very grateful for having been to cities like Edinburgh (on the day of our visit there, Queen Elizabeth II died), Glasgow and areas […]

Belgium

In July I was on a nice trip to Wallonia. This formerly heavily industrialized region of Belgium is still undergoing massive structural change, but it is already not stingy with attractions, especially since it also has an extremely large number of cultural treasures (cathedrals, churches, rococo town houses, etc.) from times before industrialization. I can […]

Emils Cabinet – an Exhibition about my Great-Grandfather’s File Storage

On July 2nd – my mother’s birthday – I had great joy: Not only my dear mother had a very big birthday that day (and was with us!), also in the Museum for Saxon Folk Art in Dresden (Museum “Jägerhof”) an exhibition about Emil Lohse (her grandfather and my great-grandfather) was opened. And there’s a […]
Erlangen Comicsalon & Austria Comic Con

In June I was at the beautiful Erlangen Comic Salon and immediately after that I was a featured artist at the Austria Comic Con. Both comic festivals were very, very nice – probably the best of this kind I’ve ever been to! Here are a few sketches by visitors of the Austria Comic Con and […]
WAR OF THE WORLDS: Martian War Machine

Last weekend I was in Basel to promote my new graphic novel adaptation of 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA at the Comixshop Basel booth (at the “Fantasy Basel” fair). Tomorrow is the first sale day of this ‘sequel’ to my WAR OF THE WORLDS adaption, and we already had copies there in Switzerland that I […]
