January 20th, 7 pm, Museum for Literature PrinzMaxPalais, Karlstr. 10, 76133 Karlsruhe
The 12th annual lectureship in Poetics at the Karlsruhe University of Education, which I’m holding this year and that’s in partnership with the Hausach Reading Festival, comes along with the first concert reading of my comic adaption of Jules Verne’s famous novel 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA in the Museum for Literature in Karlsruhe (at the Prinz Max Palais)!
At the event we all dive into Jules Verne’s fantastic underwater worlds: While the pictures from the graphic novel roll before your eyes and I read the scenes from the comic, Jörg Walter‘s music that was composed on a historical reed organ exclusively for that event is heard as well! Thus, the fantastic adventures of Captain Nemo and his passengers and crew come to life for you before your very eyes.
Afterwards I give a small report about the creative process behind the adaption with insights into the work of a comic artist. You are welcome to ask me any questions about my work, and the book can also be purchased at the book table and signed during the evening.
The event, which will be held in German, is suitable for children aged 7 and up, and admission is free!
