On a summer trip in Egypt, twins Yana and Yamon (12) travel to the Valley of the Kings with their sister Anouk, a smitten archaeology student. Together with their uncle, Professor Klawitter, they find a previously undiscovered burial chamber in a pyramid – with a magical formula inside, that transforms them into sacred animals (if spoken correctly): Bastet the cat, Horus the falcon, and Anubis the dog.
Further on, they witness a robbery at the Egyptian Museum, during which Tutankhamun’s mask and a mummy are stolen, and a breakneck chase ensues. They’ll have to use their new-found superpowers! But the mastermind behind the robbery finds out how to do the same magic and turns himself into a mythical insect. Can they stop him (and his chubby dachshund Hugo) from his thievery business? Will the twins and Anouk succeed in recovering the historical treasures?
I illustrated this wonderfully exciting and adventurous book by author Fabian Lenk with a wraparound cover, black-and-white illustrations and vignettes. Plus, I designed 90 % of the title typography by hand.
